Paco went on an amazing horse-drawn sleigh ride with his sister this week! What a beautiful way to spend a day. There has been a lot of snow this winter already and Paco loves it. There are many fun activities to do outdoors in the snow, as long as you can bundle up to stay warm! Building snowman, sledding, and making snow balls -- it's all so much fun. You can have fun indoors making snowflakes too. Paco has made some wonderful paper snowflakes in the past. Have you ever tried? Paco had a fun time painting this week! He likes to paint and color all kinds of different things. Have you ever painted on a ceramic surface? There are a lot of options for you if you haven't. Using oven safe ceramic dishes is one great idea because you can see your artwork every time you use the dish! Paco had a great time in the bakery this week! Making fresh cakes, cookies, and breads is such a delight. Do you like to bake? It takes practice and patience. Paco had a great week exploring the stars in the night sky! On a nice clear night he can see a lot of stars by just looking up. He also has a telescope that he uses to see so much more of what is in the sky. Planets, constellations, shooting stars, and closer views of the moon. Have you ever looked through a telescope? Paco made a special video to show you how he finds Polaris, also called the North Star. When you are in the Northern Hemisphere the North Star can be very helpful because when you find that star you will always know you are facing north. Explorers have been using The North Star to help with navigation for centuries! If it's cloudy or if you're in a big city with a lot of light it can be more difficult to find. Pick a nice clear night with a dark sky and follow Paco's tips. Imagine using the stars to guide you on an exploration. Where can the stars take you? Paco wrote a special poem for all his pals this week. Did you get his postcard? He used poetry to share his feelings about the special holiday coming up this weekend. Memorial Day is a holiday to honor Military Service Members who lost their lives serving our country. To help you show your support of our Military Heroes Paco created a fun activity!
