Paco had a nice time camping out under the stars with his dad this week! Do you like to camp? Sleeping outside when the sky is clear and the weather is warm can be a lot of fun. To share some of the best parts of camping Paco has created a new Read & Find with lots of camping items. How many of the little treasures can you find on this Camping Edition worksheet?
Paco learned a little bit about the planet Venus on his campout. Did you know that Venus is the third brightest object in the sky? The moon and sun are the only objects brighter! Sometimes you can even see Venus during the day.
If you want to learn more about the planet Venus check out the Kids Learning Tube Venus Facts Video. What do you think Paco's favorite fact about Venus might be? Let him know in the comments below.
Paco wrote a special poem for all his pals this week. Did you get his postcard? He used poetry to share his feelings about the special holiday coming up this weekend. Memorial Day is a holiday to honor Military Service Members who lost their lives serving our country.
To help you show your support of our Military Heroes Paco created a fun activity! Just print out the worksheet below and gather some supplies to get started. When you're done with your Windsock be sure to hang it somewhere for all to see.
Happy Memorial Day!
Memorial Day is the holiday that traditionally kicks off summer! The long weekend is usually filled with fun summer get aways and family visits. Check out the Singing Walrus' Summer song to uncover some of Paco's favorite summertime activities.
Paco learned a very simple lesson this week, simple but valuable! He learned that running is not only great exercise, but that running can also be a lot of fun. The best part about running is that it does not require much more than running shoes and some water! Paco went on a 1-mile family run this week. He had a great time and was able to run half of it without stopping. Paco has set a goal to run a full mile by summertime! Do you think he can do it? Can you do it?
After the run they did a Scavenger Hunt. Paco's little sister won because she found the most items on the list. But it was a fun time for everyone exploring the neighborhood. If you want to give it a try just print out the activity below, put on some running shoes, and get moving!
This week Paco connected with some friends virtually by video! It was fun for him to see his friends together in one call. They had fun catching up, telling jokes and even singing! Rhi the Rabbit had them all singing along to some of her favorite Sesame Street songs. Rhi told Paco and the others about a series of musical concerts called Tiny Desk, where musical acts perform at a tiny desk in an office. The whole gang from Sesame Street did a concert there last year and it was really fun.
Click the video below to join the cast and sing along too!
If you find yourself missing friends, family members or your teachers, Paco has an idea for you! Just print out the stationary below, color the pictures and write a note. Paco knows that getting things in the mail is a great pick me up for anyone!
